MILITARY DAYS
Military days at Sandown Park are a salute to the courage and selfless dedication of our armed forces. These historical fixtures are always well attended by many members of the services, with stirring music provided by military bands. Look out for the beautifully turned-out huntsmen and hounds in the traditional Hunt Parade.

Grand Military Gold Cup Day - Friday 12 March 2010
The Grand Military Gold Cup is a race that dates back to 1841 and has featured many of the country's finest amateur riders.
The Queen Mother was an avid supporter of the event, her horse winning on no less than five occasions, most memorably Special Cargo in 1984, 1985 and 1986. A statue in bronze of this magnificent horse stands overlooking the Weighing Room near our Winners’ Enclosure.
