SEASONS HOLIDAYS TO SPONSOR TINGLE CREEK CHASE AT SANDOWN PARK

04/08/2008

Sandown Park are delighted to announce today that Seasons Holidays are to sponsor the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase in a two year deal.  The sponsorship is in conjunction with Seasons Holidays’ backing of the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

The Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase is one of Sandown Park’s most high profile National Hunt races and has an enviable record in terms of the quality of winners.  The Paul Nicholls-trained Twist Magic won the race last year with stablemate Kauto Star winning the race in 2005 and 2006; Paul Nicholls has won 5 of the last 9 Tingle Creeks.  The ever popular Moscow Flyer won the race in 2003 and 2004.

Paul Nicholls, Champion Trainer, commented: “Both races have a huge place in my heart as we have such a good record in them.  It is fantastic for National Hunt racing that Seasons Holidays are extending their association with the sport and I hope that I will be collecting the 2008 Seasons Holidays Tingle Creek Chase Trophy.  Master Minded will be aimed at the race.”

David Mackinnon, Managing Director at Sandown Park, commented: “We are obviously thrilled that Seasons Holidays are to sponsor the 2008 and 2009 Tingle Creek Chases at Sandown Park along with the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.  Over the last decade both these races have produced some of the best equine performances and provided our racegoers with the utmost thrill and we hope that this year will once again be a memorable occasion.”

Barry Hurley, Chairman of Seasons Holidays, commented: “We are delighted to be extending our horseracing association with the dual sponsorship of jump racing’s finest two-mile contests - The Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown Park and the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.  We look forward to developing a strong relationship with the racing industry and audience, and are all thoroughly looking forward to 6 December.”

The 2008 Seasons Holidays Tingle Creek Chase will be run on Saturday 6 December at Sandown Park.
