THE SUPER STYLISH SUSIE AMY IS THE 2008 FACE OF CORAL-ECLIPSE DAY
One of the most fashionable events in the racing calendar is taking place at Sandown Park this year when the racecourse plays host to the Coral-Eclipse Day on Saturday 5 July 2008 and this year Susie Amy, famed for her role as Chardonnay in Footballers Wives and more currently in the new series Echo Beach, will be the ‘face’ for the day.
Not only is the Coral-Eclipse one of the premier flat racedays in the country but it’s also a day of high summer fashion where hats are worn and the latest designer outfits are on parade. This year the universally popular actress, Susie Amy will be present on the day wearing an outfit retailed by Bernard, Esher and will judge this years’ Best Dressed Lady Competition where the winning lady will have the chance of winning a dream holiday. Susie will be out and about around the racecourse checking out the latest in fashion along with other spotters who will be eyeing up who could be this years’ winner.
Susie Amy has been on our screens since the age of 20 when her big break came in 2001, as she was chosen to play 'Chardonnay Lane' in ITV drama Footballers' Wives, which became one of the most talked about shows on TV. Having filmed a second series of Footballers Wives, she was then chosen for the lead role of Valentine D'Artagnan in ‘La Femme Musketeer’ starring alongside Michael York, Gérard Depardieu and Nastassja Kinski. For the role she had to train in martial arts, fencing and horse riding, which she is said to have loved.
In November and December of 2007 she appeared in three episodes of Coronation Street, as the ex-wife of Tony Gordon and then earlier this year she parodied herself as the actress "Suzie Amy" in the TV comedy-drama Moving Wallpaper, and played Angela Cole in Wallpaper's sister show, the soap opera Echo Beach.
Susie Amy, says "Growing up so close to Sandown Park I have always enjoyed horse racing. Racing to me is a great opportunity for friends and family to get dressed up and have fun day out together. I am really looking forward to being a judge for the Best Dressed Lady Competition and seeing all the glamour that will be there on the day, and also watching the fantastic racing that is on offer.”
The Coral-Eclipse race this year is going to be bigger and better than every before, ranking among the top premier flat racedays in the country, attracting a glittering field of the best horses and star jockeys.
Complimentary grooming will be provided for the females at the Style Stable where Bobbi Brown will be adding the final touch-up to your makeup, Aveda Redchat will be on hand to provide treatments such as complimentary massages, luxury foot and hand treatments, a hair styling service and there is the chance to try the latest range of luxury beauty products. Also on course will be Sandown Park’s own Fashion TV presented by Sarah Jagger – Boots TV presenter, who will be chatting to racegoers about their outfits – with so much going on this day is an absolute summer must!
