ROCK THE STARS TO CHASE 100K FLAT SEASON BONUS AT SANDOWN PARK

Following the success of last year’s inaugural £100,000 Flat Season Bonus with the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Fontley and the Lady Herries-trained Jo’Burg both attempting to win the bonus race on 21 August 2010, Sandown Park has another challenger for the 2011 bonus in the John Hills-trained Rock The Stars.
John Hills commented: “Rock The Stars has done extremely well this season and we are all hoping he can produce one more top performance to scoop the £100,000 bonus that Sandown Park have offered, providing he gets in the race. It is a fantastic initiative especially in the current tariff climate as it rewards the stable staff as well as the owner.”
Andrew Cooper, Director of Racing at Sandown Park commented: “We introduced the bonus last year which saw two horses qualifying for it on Variety Club Day and this year we have the John Hills-trained Rock The Stars. We all wish them the very best of luck.”
The bonus is rewarded to the connections of any horse that has won any two races at the Esher venue from Saturday 23 April 2011 and then goes on to win the £50,000 Variety Club Day feature handicap on Saturday 20 August 2011 for three-year-olds and upwards over 10 furlongs.
