SANDOWN PARK IS AWARDED SOUTH-EAST RACECOURSE OF THE YEAR
16/12/2009
Sandown Park Racecourse is delighted to announce it has been voted South-East Racecourse of the Year by The Racegoers Club.
The racecourse was up against stiff competition in the South-East category from Ascot, Epsom Downs, Goodwood and Kempton Park all of whom staged major race meetings throughout the year as well as smaller courses such as Folkestone, Fontwell, Brighton, Lingfield Park, Plumpton and Windsor.
David Mackinnon, Managing Director of Sandown Park Racecourse commented, "We are delighted to have been awarded this accolade from Racegoers Club. This is a great recognition of the high standard of facilities and services we provide our racegoers when visiting the course.”
The awards are keenly contested. On average Racegoers Club members go racing 31 times per year, therefore no one could be better qualified to pass judgement on which courses deserve recognition, which makes the accolades mean even more to the winning courses.
This is the third award that Sandown Park has won this year. In March the racecourse won the Betview Award of Racecourse of the Year and six months later the Gold award for Best CD-ROM/DVD at the MIMA (Meetings Industry Marketing Awards).
