PLENTY OF EXCITING ACTION IN THE PIPELINE AT SANDOWN PARK RACECOURSE

Sandown Park Racecourse, which offers special rates for groups and coach tours, has plenty of exciting action over the coming months, with highlights including the Paddy Power Imperial Cup, featuring Irish Day, on Saturday 10 March and the end of season finale, the bet365 Gold Cup Festival on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 April 2012.
The bet365 Gold Cup Festival is one of the highlights of the whole year at Sandown Park and is unique as the second day of the meeting signifies the end of the winter jumps season but there is also competitive flat racing taking place during the afternoon – the best of both worlds!
To celebrate the closing day of the jumps season, some of the top horses of the previous six months will parade before racing – previous horses parading have included the likes of Kauto Star, Big Buck’s and Grand National winner Ballybriggs, so the 2012 lineup is sure to see just as many equine stars. There is also the official end of season awards ceremony, where the Champion Trainer, Jockey and Owner are all presented with their trophies, as well as eight races to enjoy.
Paddy Power Imperial Cup Day, featuring Irish Day, takes place at the beginning of March and is a great day out for both keen horseracing fans and the casual racegoers. Alongside some top action from the track, St Patrick’s Day is just under a week away, so there will be plenty of “craic” to celebrate, including Irish music, food and of course, plenty of the black stuff, Guinness!
