GIDDY UP GUYS, IT'S GENTLEMEN'S DAY
04/08/2008
The excitement and anticipation of the winter season at Sandown Park Racecourse kicks off with a bang when its popular Gentlemen’s Day returns to the Esher venue. Saturday 8 November 2008 is the opening day of the jump racing Season at Sandown Park and it will also be a day for the gents with plenty of thrilling action both on and off the course to keep male racegoers amused.
Sandown Park was the first racecourse to introduce Gentlemen’s Day in 2006 and the day has grown in popularity since then, with lots of entertainment for the men in the crowd, from fathers and sons to stag parties enjoying a superb day out.
For the fashion conscious amongst us there will be a Best Dressed Man Competition, with fantastic prizes for the most stylish man at the racecourse. Racing is always a good excuse to dress up and with this extra incentive the contest is sure to be immensely competitive. To get ahead in the competition why not visit the Grooming Stable, where Aveda Redchat and Austin Reed will be giving complementary treatments, including wet shaves and massages.
Gadgets and gizmos are the favourite “boys toys” and www.iwantoneofthose.com will be at Sandown Park with everything that any man could ever want. From an MP4 Video watch to exploding golf balls, iwantoneofthose.com is a haven of items, some of which you have always wanted to get your hands on and plenty that you will have never seen before and yet have to have once you have seen them.
A Gents day out would not be complete without a bit of a flutter on the gee gee’s and to make the day even more profitable why not visit the fun casino that will be at the racecourse to play a bit of blackjack or roulette. The racing is sure to provide plenty of entertainment, and there will also be live music after racing to keep the party going into the evening.
David Mackinnon, Managing Director of the course, commented, “Gentlemen’s Day is now a really popular day out for men, but that is not to say that ladies won’t enjoy themselves as there will be lots of entertainment, alongside what is sure to be competitive racing. It really is a fantastic day out for all.”
