Following the huge success of the Jump Season Comedy show earlier in the year, Sandown Park have gone and done it again and on Wednesday 13 August the racecourse will be hosting another hilarious Comedy Night!  
After the racing, a bill of three brilliant stand-up comedians (courtesy of the Comedy Store) will take to the stage to create an atmosphere of happy hilarity while you enjoy a drink or two in the company of friends and colleagues.  Performing three live 20 minute acts after the days racing, the racecourse is proud to announce the following top comedians: 

1.  Larger than life, Actor/Comedian, Angelo Tsarouchas is without question, Canada’s next “big thing”. Dubbed “The Hitman of Hilarity”, Angelo definitely exudes star power. His trademark mobster resemblance, burly size and no hold back attitude, have put him in high demand on the global comedy stage as well as in television and film projects on both sides of the border.  More than just a mobster look-alike, Angelo’s acting resume is highlighted with 10 feature films in the past 2 years – all of which have seen tremendous box office successes.  There is simply no other Canadian actor out there who has name-dropping credibility like Angelo. He has worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood including Denzel Washington, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Marlon Brando, Edward Norton, Sylvester Stallone and Chris Rock.  Aside from a budding film career, Angelo has seen much success on the international comedy circuit. He is one of Canada’s most celebrated comics, selling out venues across the country.

2.   Micky Flanagan is a professional stand-up since 1997 and draws on his East End background as he ruthlessly deconstructs the Cockney myth with razor-sharp observational wit. He tells a comic tale of a working class upbringing, where alphabetti spaghetti is a luxury and a bottle of black tower the height of sophistication.
Micky's unique brand of intelligent humour appeals to men and women equally, as he bemoans the lot of modern man in pursuit of the perfect idle day, and celebrates being turned away from a night club because his feet are killing him.

3.  Jeff Innocent is an established and popular stand-up comedian on the British live comedy circuit and has appeared on national television many times. He is from East London and had a typical ‘East End’ upbringing. Born in a workhouse, his mother dying in childbirth, he joined a gang of child pickpockets who preyed upon London’s rich. He was eventually saved by one of his very victims, a Professor Higgins who sought unsuccessfully to reform Jeff’s street urchin existence. Inevitably ‘nabbed’ by the Peelers and transported to Australia, he escaped back to the ‘East End’ where he briefly played inside-right for West Ham United! 

At the start of the evening, the racecourse’s much loved Pantomime Horse Race takes place before the first race.  Last year there were a record number of runners and more are expected to enter this year, with training already underway in support of the Borough and the Mayor’s charity.
