BOYZONE to perform at Sandown Park
Sandown Park is delighted to announce that the hit boy band, Boyzone, will be performing live after racing on the evening of Thursday 6th August.
Boyzone are currently one of the UK’s biggest boy bands having first hit the scene more than 15 years ago and now, as part of their 2009 summer tour titled ‘Better 09’, Ronan, Stephen, Mikey, Keith and Shane will take to the stage after the action from the track has concluded and thrill crowds with their medley of hits including ‘No Matter What’, ‘Words’ and ‘Baby Can I Hold You’.
Music Nights have become a huge success at Sandown Park over the past three years and with sell outs of more than 15,000 people at both the Girls Aloud and Madness concerts in 2008, it’s expected that this year will be no exception. The 2009 Music Nights line-up now includes Boyzone on Thursday 6th August and Simply Red, who will be performing at Sandown Park as part of their 25th anniversary farewell tour on Wednesday 22nd July.
Formed in 1994, Boyzone achieved the best-ever start to an Irish and UK singles career with 16 consecutive Top 5 hits. Having scored six UK Number 1 singles, plus four Number 1 albums, their total album sales exceeds 15 million, making them one of the UK and Ireland’s best-selling bands. The band split up in 2000 to pursue solo careers, but after performing on BBC Children In Need 2007 they reformed in early 2008 to undertake a hugely successfully tour of the UK and Ireland.

Tickets are now on sale. Prices for the racing and concert start at £25 for Grandstand admission and £30 for Premier Admission when booked in advance. Tickets for children aged 9 and under are priced at £5 with children aged 10-16, £15. Racing is a real social occasion and group bookings of 12 or more will receive a 20% discount.
