SANDOWN PARK ARE TOP AT THE ASSOCIATION OF EVENT ORGANISERS AWARDS

Sandown Park Racecourse were victorious at the prestigious Association of Event Organiser’s Excellence Awards 2007. A gathering of over 1,200 key industry players congregated at Old Billingsgate to see presentations of 17 awards in various categories. With tough competition from the likes of Earls Court and Olympia, Novotel London West and the International Centre, Telford, Sandown Park were top in the field of Venue Customer Service. The Events Team are delighted to win and be recognised for all their efforts in developing outstanding customer service - moreover as a racecourse excelling in the events side of its business is a great achievement for all at Sandown Park.
The team were thrilled when the winner was announced, with Barbara Crow, Head of Events Sales and Simon Durrant, Head of Operations collecting the award to the tune of ‘Crazy Horses’, by the Osmonds, playing in the background. Barbara Crow said “We are delighted to win such a fantastic award. Everyone at Sandown Park, both direct employees and third party contractors contribute in providing exceptional customer service – which is such a key factor in ensuring our clients have the best possible support to guarantee every success in their event”
The awards ceremony was complimented with light-hearted entertainment in the form of a mime artist acting out lyrics to a song and compered by the fantastic Michael MacIntyre who maintained an upbeat and entertaining atmosphere. Celebrations continued down into the Vaults at Old Billingsgate with a live band and dancing late into the evening.
